Requirements for submitting manuscripts

1. Before submitting a manuscript for publication, we ask authors to read, in addition to these Guidelines, the information contained in the Publishing Policy section on the Journal’s PRESSto page.

2. “Agricultural Law Review” has adopted and implemented the principles of publication ethics consistent with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and recommendations regarding the publication process (https://publicationethics.org). The ethical principles focused on publication in scientific journals can be found in the Publishing Policy sectionat https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/ppr/zasady_etyki. By submitting a manuscript to the editor, authors declare that they have read these rules and undertake to comply with them.

3. Author’s Representation regarding granting a license to the works and a consent to the processing of personal data and other information (PPR Author’s Representation) must be attached to the application for publication.

4. Requirements concerning the size of submitted texts:

  • 20,000 to 42,000 characters – articles
  • up to 25,000 characters – glosses
  • up to 12,000 characters – reviews
  • up to 12,000 characters – informative reports

5. Requirements for submitted manuscripts:

Manuscripts should be submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform using an individual user account (after registration): https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/ppr/about/submissions

Submission requires completing the online OJS form and uploading three files:

  • Attachment 1 – Anonymized Manuscript
    A manuscript containing all elements listed below in the prescribed order. The submitted text must be fully anonymized. All information that could identify the author(s) must be removed from the main text, footnotes, acknowledgements, funding information, and file metadata.
  • Attachment 2 – Title Page with Author(s) Information
    A separate title page containing information about the article and its author(s), including all elements listed below in the prescribed order.
  • Attachment 3 – Author Declaration
    A declaration signed by the author(s) using the prescribed template (PPR Author Declaration).

Anonymized Manuscript (Attachment 1)

The anonymized manuscript should contain all of the following elements in the order presented below:

Title: In Polish and English, or in the language of the manuscript and English (if the manuscript is written in a language other than Polish).

Abstract: Maximum 300 words. For manuscripts in Polish, abstracts must be provided in both Polish and English. For manuscripts written in another language, the abstract should be provided in English.

Keywords: 3-5 keywords in the language of the manuscript and in English.

Footnotes: References to all sources of legal acts and all bibliographic sources cited in the manuscript.

Structure of the Manuscript: The text should be clearly structured and may include section headings and subheadings.

References: A list of cited literature arranged alphabetically by author surname, without numbered entries. The reference list should include only works cited in the manuscript.

Author Information (Attachment 2 – Title Page)

Author information should be entered in the relevant OJS fields and provided in a separate title page containing all of the following elements in the order presented below:

Title: In the language of the manuscript and in English.

Abstract: In English.

Keywords: 3-5 keywords in the language of the manuscript and in English.

Author Information (for all co-authors, where applicable):

  • Full name
  • Academic degree or title
  • Academic and/or professional affiliation
  • Contact telephone number
  • Institutional (professional) e-mail address
  • ORCID iD (available free of charge at: https://orcid.org/) (For more information on ORCID, the international system for identifying authors of scientific papers, and instructions for creating an account: http://lib.amu.edu.pl/orcid-uam/)

Co-author(s) Contributions (CRediT)
Detailed information on each co-author’s individual contribution to the article, specified in accordance with the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) framework .

Conflict of Interest Statement
Information on the existence or absence of any conflict of interest that could affect the content, findings, or evaluation of the analyses presented. Conflicts of interest may be financial, professional, or personal in nature, for example where an author has represented a party to proceedings, prepared a legal opinion concerning the issue under analysis, or has a professional relationship with an entity whose activities are discussed in the article.

Funding Information
Information on all sources of funding for the research underlying the article, including the relevant project or grant identifier.

Use of AI Tools
Information on all artificial intelligence (AI) tools used in the preparation of the article, including the extent of their use, the name of the tool, the purpose for which it was used, and the degree of authorial supervision exercised over its use.

Ethics Statement
For empirical studies involving human participants, authors should indicate whether the research was conducted following approval by a research ethics committee, specifying the name of the institution hosting the committee as well as the reference number and date of the approval decision. Authors should also state whether all participants provided informed consent to participate in the study.

Research Data Availability Statement
Information on whether the data underlying the results presented in the article are available, together with details of where such data are stored. If the article is not based on data that can be made available, an appropriate statement should be provided.

6. Manuscripts submitted in languages other than Polish must be proofread and corrected in advance by professional translators or proofreaders who are experts in the language concerned.

7. Requirements for abstracts. The abstract should include: the purpose, the thesis of the article, the main issues, and the conclusions. It should help readers decide whether the full article is worth reading. Abstracts are also used to index articles in Polish and international scientific databases, so they should contain key words and phrases that facilitate the search for relevant content. It is advisable to use short sentences that clearly and concretely describe the problem addressed in the article. Please do not use multi-word phrases or provide information and definitions that are not included in the article. Do not include citations or any other references in the abstract.

7. Material for publication (in separate files: text and author information) should be submitted via the ‘submit text’ tab on the Journal’s  website: https://pressto.amu.edu.pl/index.php/ppr/about/submissions.
